Description of the works
Created the style witting a 50’s mafia style. Paid more attention to create beautiful flow of hair and, Flatten top is aimed to create a good balance of the silhouette. I believe a black and white to give a more classical atmosphere.
Q. What are the sources of inspiration reflected in your work?
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to 1950s American culture, and the hairstyles from that era really stood out to me.
Experimenting with those styles on myself and friends was the start of my journey to becoming a barber. This style is a return to my roots, built faithfully from the basics. So, my main inspiration comes from those roots.
Q. How much time did you spend for creating the winning designs? Also, what were some key points you considered the most for planning and creating the designs to win?
First, I clarified the vision in my mind, then did a demo haircut before the final cut and styling. The shoot was done twice, and I selected the piece I was most satisfied with. It took about a month.
Q. What lessons and discoveries has the experience of creating this work given you?
This piece reminded me of the basics we sometimes forget in daily salon work. I also found that traditional barber techniques surprisingly match modern styles, creating something amazing.
Q. How has winning changed your work, your state of mind, your career plans, your way of thinking, or your daily life?
Winning the Grand Prix has made me even more committed to living a barber life worthy of the title. My clients were also very pleased.
