Description of the works
Since I wanted to express an “aggressive” look, I added white color as lightning bolt running, the exact opposite of black as the base color, and brought out the color itself. mutual intermingling and coexistence of black and white colors was achieved.
Q. What are the sources of inspiration reflected in your work?
I tried to reflect the aggressive and shocking energy of lightning in the hair design of this piece. I usually interpret things that I find “beautiful” and “cool” in my own way and reflect that in my hair designs.
Q. How much time did you spend for creating the winning designs? Also, what were some key points you considered the most for planning and creating the designs to win?
I started planning it about a month ago.
I ran numerous simulations to decide which elements to subtract and which to add from the original style, and then I came up with the design.
Q. What lessons and discoveries has the experience of creating this work given you?
I decide what I want to show and imagine the angle and composition, but sometimes things don’t go as I imagined.
It was at times like these that I realized learning and discoveries come from the unexpected. I was reminded that in creating a work, it is more important to “continue to try and error” than to “complete” it.
Q. How has winning changed your work, your state of mind, your career plans, your way of thinking, or your daily life?
Iʼm very thankful that Iʼve been given many opportunities to broaden the scope of my work. Iʼm also very happy that my “expression” and “the worldview I wanted to convey” were able to be brought through my work, and it has given me more confidence.
I want to convey to everyone the joy of taking on a contest and the excitement of expressing yourself.
