This work seeks to embody an incomplete and imperfect beauty, one that evolves with the passage of time.
Rooted in the concept of wabi-sabi, a traditional Japanese aesthetic,
the design reflects a solitary yet rebellious youth.
I envisioned this piece with calm, flowing curves and a quiet yet powerful pompadour,
capturing a balance between serenity and defiance.

The style was inspired by the 50’s music scene of rock and roll and rockabilly.
The hair was cut with blending and other techniques in mind to maintain the overall flow of the hair.

Since I wanted to express an “aggressive” look, I added white color as lightning bolt running,
the exact opposite of black as the base color, and brought out the color itself.
mutual intermingling and coexistence of black and white colors was achieved.

UNITY IN DIVERSITY – this is the concept of the Haircut.
This haircut was born from the desire to combine the technical haircut that is inspired by Vidal Sassoon with a scissor only approach and a freer approach of our times where the clipper is the main “scissor”. Nowadays, many criticize the old school or vice versa, and that’s how we limit ourselves in becoming much more creative. We have to find the common ground and this is the passion and love for hair. It’s not easy to promote the non-push-up hairstyle in Taiwan.
I know Asian men’s hairstyle may not be always suitable for everyone.
That’s why I insisted on not pushing the edges due to achieve the effect of modifying
the shape of the face and easy to organize.
I used the natural coloring of the hair a few months
after the hair cut to create a straight-lined hairstyle at this occasion.

To create the image, I was inspired by Ridley Scott’s movies.
The cut contains elements of punk, futurism and chaos. these are the realities of life.

I love to create sharp lines that lead the eyes around any finished shape.
For my entry i wanted develop a sharpe that incorporates this,
while having a futuristic feel combining balance and sharpness.
I used contrasting col ours to enhance and complement the cut
which allows the overall image to rise to a new level.

The fullness of layers with rainbow coloured root highlighted the beauty of women’s short hair,
blending Europ ean and Asian aesthetics together.
Using scissor and razor alternately to create different hair textures,
showing the softness and neatness in one head, enhance the shape of this hairstyle.

This work is inspired by marine jellyfish.

Punk spirit was born in the seventies in the UK as a trend-setting style, especially prevalent among teenagers. Punk spirit believes that I am dissatisfied with society, not to change the norms.
A spirit of rebellion, a complete destructive force, a strong sense of rebellion and independence is its main theme, punk rejects all forms of oppression and control, advocating individual differences.
A strong nihilistic tendency prompts them to question society, subjects, and civilization, and thus many contradictions exist in themselves.
The spirit of punk profoundly tapped into the subversive significance of the style, and through its unique aesthetic style, existentialist philosophical thinking and anti-establishment political stance, it became a cultural phenomenon with far-reaching influence.
