Q. What motivated you to start your career as a hairstylist?
From a young age, I was always creative and drawn to the glamour I saw in magazines and the fashion world. Hairdressing felt like the closest and most accessible way for me to be part of that world. At just fourteen, I was ready to leave school, start working, and live life on my own terms-hairdressing was the natural fit.
Q. Is there a philosophy or message that you value in your work or creative process?
Never stop being curious. Always stay open to opportunities that challenge and stretch you. In the editorial world, you have to be flexible-things change quickly, and you need to pivot at a moment’s notice. That mindset has become my philosophy in all areas of life. Let go of what no longer serves you, and keep evolving.
Q. What trends in the world are you currently paying attention to, and how have they influenced or will influence your own creative work?
Social media moves so fast that traditional trends aren’t as dominant as they used to be-things are constantly shifting. I believe creativity can’t be boxed in or defined by others. What’s creative to me might not inspire someone else. Creativity is deeply personal; the future lies in how each of us chooses to explore and elevate our own unique voice.
