Nano Powder Metal products have an extremely sharp cutting angle that ensures the full use of the fineness unique to the steel. When first using the scissors, cutting thick bundles of hair or loosening the screw may cause the edge of the blades to chip and should be avoided.

• Do not drop or allow the product to sustain heavy impact.
• Do not allow water or perm solutions to adhere to the product; if such occurs, wipe the scissors off and store the product in a dry area.
• Do not apply heated air from a hairdryer or store the product in a location with elevated temperatures. (Heat may cause the scissors to deform or may cause other failure.)
• The handles can be re-covered; please contact us if you need re-covering. (Subject to a fee)
• If you register as a MIZUTANI member when purchasing the product, should the wood part be damaged during use, we can re-cover the handles free of charge, thus we highly recommend that you register as a member.

• As the product has a powerful magnet inside, do not sterilize it in boiling water.
• Do not place the product close to mobile phones or other electronic devices.
• Do not use the product for any purposes other than for cutting head hair.
• We recommend that you replace the cutting blade after use with each customer.

MIZUTANI’s Hard titanium coating applies titanium compound by a special method of coating after the surface preparation for each pair of scissors. This coating is extremely hard and has excellent abrasion resistance and it is not easily scratched and keeps its beautiful appearance for a long time. Please note that unique smell will possibly be remain on SCHOREM MASTER BRUTALIST due to the special surface preparatio is applied. However, the smell will be weaken gradually with use and it doesn’t offer any problem to normal use.

＊It is not guaranteed that metal allergy reaction will be avoided in all people.

We applied “Powder coating” method which does not use solvents at all, unlike a general coating, and is eco-friendly. “Powder coating” is an outstanding coating method that has excellent in weatherproof and heat resistance and is used for such as construction material, bicycle frames, and motorcycle parts exposed constantly to ultraviolet radiation, in addition to brake calipers of automobiles which are under a harsh thermal environment.

[Cautions]

※Scraping the product against a hard object may cause scratches and damage to the coating.
※Color of dyed scissor cases etc may be transferred onto the surface of the product.

[How to care for the SCHOREM MASTER PINK FLAMINGO series]
1. Please ensure to wipe off dirt and stains after use.
2. Please use a scissor cloth or similar to spread a thin layer of scissor maintenance oil on the inside of the blades.
※For daily maintenance, please use “Scissor Oil”, “Cowhide Scissor Cloth” and “Orange Cloth” made for MIZUTANI.

Please check if the screw tension is too loose or too tight to prevent the problems with sharpness according to the instructions as follows:

(1) Check the screw tension
Hold the scissors as shown in the picture, open the blades 90°, and then release the upper blade handle. If the blades close completely or do not close at all, tension of the screw needs to be adjusted as per step (2).

(2) Appropriate tension of the scissors screw
If the blades close completely at step (1), the screw is too loose and should be turned clockwise to tighten it. On the other hand, if the blades do not close, the screw is too tight so turn it to the left to loosen it.
– Adjust the flat screw with the special screwdriver provided, the other screws can be turned with fingers.
*Turn it one notch at a time to adjust to the appropriate tightness.

(3) For maintenance
If there is hair left on the blade, it may cause feeling something wrong when opening and closing the scissors, so be sure to wipe the blade with a scissor cloth. To long last scissors, apply 2-3 drops of the maintenance oil to the screws, pivot ride area and inside of the blade, and spread it out with tissue etc regularly.
*The blade is very sharp, please handle with great care.
*To ensure the scissors last a long time, wipe the blades frequently after use and apply the maintenance oil

If these above does not improve the sharpness of the scissors, please consider to ask for MIZUTANI factory sharpening.

To maintain quality, we, at MIZUTANI carefully sharpen and adjust balance each pair of scissors by craftsman, who actually make scissors.
Some of our customers bring in their scissors to MIZUTANI because they have sent them to other sharpeners and found that they are broken.
Please be sure to contact MIZUTANI distributor at your place regarding repair/sharpen your MIZUTANI scissors once we may not be able to restore the scissors to their previous sharpness in some cases.
